Live Rainbow album to be released in November

Rainbow - Memories in Rock cover art mockup

There has been no official announcement yet (as far as we know), but some online retailers started listing release of a new Rainbow live recording. Presumably the one recorded the tree dates in June this year. Titled Memories in Rock — Live in Germany, it is apparently scheduled for release on November 18 via Edel / Eagle Rock. Formats listed are: 2CD, DVD, 3DVD+CD (?), Blu-ray, and 3LP.

Thanks to Lutz Reinert for the info.

Worth every penny? It’s the final live Ranibow show ever to be filmed I think.

Having seen footage of the German concerts and even giving some allowance for loss of quality etc. I’d have to say I’d be much happier to invest in a film of the Birmingham concert, which I attended. I know it wasn’t filmed – Lord knows why not – but it was significantly better even without the stirring rendition of Burn at the end, a track not played in Germany.

I think “3DVD+CD” is a typo. It should probably mean “3 Discs, 2CD+DVD”.
At least that sounds more familiar to me, if one takes a look at the releases nowadays.
    Just a thought.

Anything released by Ritchie is very welcomed as always but being at the Loreley show and watching clips from the second German show I am not overly enamoured with this release. Ritchie was clearly not 100% ready for the gigs as evidenced by his swollen finger, being under-rehearsed and as Ritchie has implied they were just not ready for it…the performance does suffer and its not as hard hitting as I would have liked. The Birmingham gig is an improvement and possibly would have made for a better release but I am thinking come back next year..tweak your guitar up with a bit more of that unique thunderous Blackmore distortion, bring in a more rock/metal orientated bass player and drummer and record the Rainbow we all love ( well some of us anyway ha )

What are you trying to tell me?! Did I say something wrong? Did I say something bad about RB?! And, believe me or not, I’m smiling.

@6 Lutz, you’ve said nothing wrong, I hadn’t thought that my comment could have been taken in a negative way. I was trying to show my pleasure about this coming Rainbow release. Lutz I’m glad that you’re smiling, because I am too!. Be happy.

I guess it’s so cheap to burn CD or DVD but its a nice money spinner when you make your price on line or in the shops. I hate multiple CD or DVD as one always gets lost or doesn’t work properly!!!! Vinal rules!!!
