I wonder if anything will ever come of the planned collaboration between Purple and Quincy Jones that Gillan mentioned a few years back. It had something to do with Montreaux Jazz…

A poignant and fitting date. July 16, 2012, the day of Jon Lord’s passing.

Forget all that, what the hell is happening about the NEW ALBUM!??

I hope that the band will go on for another five years and will re-record SOTW in 2021 to celebrate 50 year anniversary of the song. Mr Gillan would be 76 then. It is a great song even without the riffus simplexus. Collaboration with maestro Quincy Jones would be a fantastic event. Hope it will happen.

    Hope too!

    Greg, @4,
I was at a Dan Baird Concert in Cleveland and wearing a Deep Purple t-shirt. A guy came up to me and started showing me pictures of him and Roger Glover in Nashville. SAid he saw some great impromptu jams and talked to them about the new album, he is looking forward to hearing the album when it comes out. So Am I.
