Different from what people think

Monsters of Rock 2016 banner

Ronnie Romero, the singer in the latest incarnation of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, has spoken to Metal Shock Finland about his appointment and first impressions of working with the legend Ritchie is:

We had some jamming sessions and some new ideas for the songs. Ritchie is different from what the people think – it’s very easy because Ritchie is a very very nice guy and he’s a legend, he knew everything about rock and roll. So all you can do is learn about it, his history and the way he sees the scene. He always teaches me, he’s like a mentor for me.

Ronnie singing voice sounds so much like Johnny Gioeli’s from Axel Rudi Pell’s band. So much so that if they ever sang together they might sound like twins. We already know that Axel himself is a huge fan of your favourite guitar slinger… Anyway, I love what hot Ronnie does & welcome him to the fold with open arms!. I feel positive about these coming concerts & about what else (hopefully) may evolve form them. Something is generally better than nothing at all.

There is an excellent interview with Blackmore at his Facebook site. It is from a Dutch hard rock magazine, where he reveals a little about the possible set list & other things!
It is sounding grand indeed! Cheers.

Without coming across as whipping a dead horse, on the point that Romero makes here hoping to “make some kind of history with Rainbow”…. No New Music? Not New Rainbow. I am crossing my fingers that a new album is in the works with this line-up which will then galvanize them as being Rainbow and not just a Tribute to Rainbow past….

@1 Blackwood Richmore, I agree, Johnny G. is a great singer and the new album from Axel Rudi Pell is very dynamic and fantastic!

My hopefully wish is , that Axel and his band do the support for the upcoming concerts of Ritchie Blackmore and his new guys…

Let’s wait and see… have a nice Day!

@ 5 they added more touring dates ,so I am hoping more work and stuff will come out of it.Blackmore knows it that this is his last time to rock and make something out of it.I’m pretty sure,Blackmore has something under his sleeves and he is itching to tell the world that he can still play some good hard rocking music one more time.Or maybe this is what I want believe. …I kind of sound like Joe Lynn Turner now!! lol

My hunch is that “maybe” they will come up with a new opening number, perhaps, unless he goes with Kill the King/Spotlight, Burn or Highway Star, sure, many options but I’m hoping though that this new energy in rehearsals will produce an energetic new track to use on stage. Hope I’m right.
