Be a Purple roadie for a day
Next week starting Monday October 10 Planet Rock will be running an unusual promotion for the Deep Purple UK tour in late November.
All next week we are going to be giving you the chance to do something most people can only dream of – you could be part of the road crew for one of the biggest bands of ALL TIME.
We will be giving you the chance to become a roadie at one of Deep Purple’s shows on their forthcoming UK tour.
You’ll be able to see what happens behind the scenes at the show, take part in putting the gig together, watch the sound check and then see the main show. It’s an extraordinary once in a lifetime opportunity for one lucky listener and we’ll be telling you how to get involved next Monday.

Look out, there’s a catch involved, most of us have a half day off work before and after work but DP expect you to put in a full shift before the gig…

I look forward to setting up Paicey’s drums and testing Gillan’s microphone. “Ba Ba Ba, BaBa-BaBa,Ba Ba Ba, BaBa….”.

October 13th, 2011 at 18:19well, ’bout a thousand times I think considering I was a jobbing musician for a few years, BUT…an Elvis impersonator carried my bass drum once(he was our ‘support act’ on one gig,) and we played a mean version of Burning Love for his honour. LOL, take care
Just what I always wanted, to give my information to a form that does who knows what with it, when all the while there isn’t a snowballs chance in hell I will win any such contest they suckered me out of my information to get.
