Both of Martin Popoff’s Deep Purple books — Gettin’ Tighter: Deep Purple ’68 – ’76 and A Castle Full Of Rascals: Deep Purple ’83 – ’09 are now available in electronic form. The ebooks have been published in PDF format, which is probably not the best option for pocket size readers, but are DRM free and readable worldwide. At 182 MB each, both are rather hefty downloads. The size is said to “maintain the layout of the original book, and provide images at the highest quality”.

The ebooks are available through zunior.com for $8.88 each: Gettin’ Tighter and A Castle Full Of Rascals.

Martin Popoff writes good books, i purchased his book ( The collector’s guide to Heavy Metal ) a couple of years ago and he gives very good insight on Rock bands albums from A throughZ. He gives his reviews of Deep Purples albums, starting with, Book Of Taliesyn through to Perpendicular, where he states, Man, it’s so inspiring to hear such crowning creativity by a band so, to put it delicately, long in the tooth, in which he rates the album as a perfect ten. I recommend the book for any Purple fan or Hard Rock.

Nice. I bought the physical versions of these books a while back, but it’s also great to have the e-versions too, so I just bought these at, what is a bit of a bargain price.

I would just like Martin to make the following available as e-books now too:

    Dio: Light Beyond The Black
    Rainbow: English Castle Magic
    Black Sabbath: Doom Let Loose

Would snap them up in an instant!

    Thanks Martin.

Martin is probably a great writer…I know he wrote books even about ’70 rare hard rock/prog bands…
