Though the Nay Sayers will probably cut you down, it is a true testament to the present Purple and a Valiant Purple that will go out eventually in True Style. Not looking back, but paving the way to the end…..

We aquired several autographs from Roger over the years even his signature is artistic. He even handed my 83 year young Mother a pic. We could not believe she stood in front of stage for 2 hours at Atlantic City N.J they made every one else sit down until encore. She is short though. Great show including Rogers solo great person Mr. Glover is

uke–lute or whatever–man in black will always be famous for his tremendous musical talent. RB is the only one who could play “tip toe through the tulips” and make it sound like a rock classic

I believe it is a Ukulele.

The ukulele from Hawaii (variantly spelled ukelele in the UK), sometimes abbreviated as the uke, is a chordophone classified as a plucked lute; it is a subset of the guitar family of instruments, generally with four nylon or gut strings or four courses of strings.

The ukulele originated in the 19th century as a Hawaiian interpretation of a small guitar-like instrument brought to Hawaii by Portuguese immigrants. It gained great popularity elsewhere in the United States during the early 20th century, and from there spread internationally.

Tone and volume of the instrument vary with size and construction. Ukuleles commonly come in four sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone.

Roger obviously knew that Ritchie plays ‘ALL THINGS WITH STRINGS’ and as with the Lute, this fits the bill….a true ‘Uke, Lute and Hurdy Gurdy Man’…

As for Roger’s sketch, and the obvious character which he drew, I continue to dig just how clever he is. Dry sense of humor lives on!!
