Man, it was just that they didn’t want them to confuse people with Richard, Blackmore was not an issue, so that younger fans or people who don’t know as much about DP family tree and Rainbow as we crazy fans don’t think that they will see Ritchie. Blackmore was never issue, he’s Jurgen Blackmore, but full name is Jurgen Richard Blackmore. Honesty is needed in cases like this, especially with younger fans, if I was 17-18 years old and thinking I’ll see Ritchie and it appears it’s not him, I’d be dissappointed. This topic is meaningless in this form as that Ritchie said to J.R. don’t use your surname, and responsible is Candice or her mother. Man, gossip like on coffee with 4-5 old aunts don’t know what to do but to spread stories like these. They introducing him as J.R. Blackmore, or Jurgen Blackmore and that’s correct and it should be for mentioned reason.

Ritchie is past it now, seen him many times and he’s to temperMENTAL. Last straw was a couple of years ago at the Reading half concert when he played like geoge formby and walked off after 60 mins. Was once my hero but have moved on as there is better guitarists out there.
Let him be ruled by his mother in law, I bet Ian Gillan
is pissing himself laughing because he saw her naked, perhaps thats what Ritchie is scared of

Awkward! In so many ways. Joe Linquitto has always spreading bad words about someone (Simon is a cretin, David uses tapes to sing, current Purple is shit, etc). So, it is very likely he just made this one up too. On the other hand… trying to stop his own son to use the surname (as if it was a Trade Mark) is the typycal attittude of Mrs. Night´s mother son-in-law (remember Ritchie suing DP for using his face on a t-shirt, and then suing them for removing his face from the same t-shirt…). So, anything is possible, coming from Linquitto and Blackmore …
