I disagree, CG, I think that Blackmore is astonishing with acoustic guitar - truth, he's so charismatic that people start to "over-love" him, and then becoming disappointed when his moody part appear. If we look at Blackmore's music it's just ingenious, the problem appear when people look at his music trough prism of his personality and over-washed criticism on his account. The fact is that Ritchie is genius, musical genius; and very moody person indeed. From his first days and until today he's done so many new things, various things, so many various pieces of art that no other guitarist dream to achieve. Page is playing same old sound for 42 years, no changes, no new ideas, but for his media-loved personality he's so "good". Well, for me it'd be disappointing to see Ritchie jumping like in 70s and 80s, playing old things for living, and not being able to do some new, different things, and be good at it. Therefore, Lord is just honest, emotionally mature and intelligent; and very objective - beside fact that he's one of the best organ players of all time, well for me he's the best, but for sake of objective point of view most recognizable for sure.
Therefore, retrospective of their work would be something great indeed, beside several new songs.

Sounds like Jon is still dreaming... te he!
But seriously, Ritchie is not that great acoustically, Jon of all people should know that. But it really is Ritchie's x-factor that makes him so special, it's a magnitism that comes from his misunderstood personality, nothing more. He may be great and all, but it has less to do with music than even Jon can fathom. This may be what makes him tick, but as far as I'm concerned it's also what makes him destructive. I think the musical side of that sword is much more interesting than the other and I stick to that, but it's funny how Jon himself doesn't seem to. Ritchie is that possesive, and Jon is still affected somehow, obviously.

I really don't think working together is going to make any difference at this point, they have to be both inspired and creative at the same time, or it's just another piece of music... I think they realize that much, so if and when they do it, they have to go into it very prepared.

Good luck, Jon.(btw, you still owe me one)lol!

"<a href="http://jonlord.org/2009/07/17/in-conversation-at-lichfield/" rel="nofollow">I’d love to write something for Ritchie Blackmore to play. It’s been discussed by us, and we both keep saying it. His acoustic style is astonishingly good.</a>"

Well, I'm glad that there's still love between Deep Purple fathers and main pillars - nevertheless, it'd be great to hear them again in some project, may I suggest some kind of retrospective thing: "Lord Blackmore"! Then let them take their fans like Lars, Lande or Dickinson, and someone on bass, and fire it up for one last firing time, they have magic. They don't need to call them self DP, we all know that they are :-). I'd like them see doing everything: DP, Rainbow, Lord's orchestra, Blackmore's Night things. Man, that would be better then anything else today.

Jon Lord and Glenn Hughes? No thanks, not particularly interested just because they were band mates once upon a time... but to each their own.

@9 That show was a one-off with Jon Lord as guest. The rest of the shows with this Swedish band were done with Glenn Hughes as guest instead.

The singer is Jakob Samuel, the singer from Swedish band The Poodles. He used to be the drummer in Talisman.

The Mötley Crüe singer is Vince Neil.

The footage right now @ www.jonlord.org is pretty cool indeed, Albert Lee having fun with Burn, Lazy and SOTW. Now there is a GREAT old guitarist with a serious influence on Blackmore who can still jam at high speed.(must be his country picking prowess thats responsible for such an ability after all these years)Hhhmmm....

I was just trying to commerate Lords outing many decades ago that THAT THERE IS MORE MONEY IN THE STATES........

And it was not always that normal that rockbands toured Russia

Blackmore once even said he would like to tour there but despised the regime.
But that was such a long time ago.....

You were probably not around then?

Haha, Jon Lord will have to pay royalities for the Russian Authors Society, in order to have the legal right for performing 'Concerto' written by Jon Lord himself. :D

Despite the fact that he will have many fans ou there he will, just as Deep Purple, get fined for “illegally” performing his music.

Well what can you do about it
