You didn’t say you had heard it, so even a retard would assume correctly that you hadn’t.
And no, where did I indicate it ‘has to be good’ just because I said it? You’re leaping to major conclusions… what I said was that ‘I’d pay to see them, judging simply by what I’ve heard’ which you OBVIOUSLY haven’t, in order to opine either way… gives me a slight edge though, ya think?

Let’s put it this way… I figured I’d get through at least one bootleg before I slag this project or not, and after being treated to crap video clips and a couple being pro shot even, I was looking a bit down on it so far… then the show surfaced and I’m glad to report it’s got far more potential than paper seems to allow. If something rocks imo, I won’t slag it, and eat any prior negative words I may have spewed concerning it. It’s good, but much to my surprise! These things do happen, I don’t give a rats ass if it’s Tiny Tim on guitar and Wendy O Williams on vocals.lol!

I don’t listen to opinions of something that hasn’t been listened to by the opinied. Once you’ve at the very least heard the recording I’m talking about, then I will honor your thoughts about OTR, at this point. Otherwise it’s whistling dixie. But you won’t be able to tell me it isn’t good, because it is good. Taste and/or preconception, makes no difference, good is good, regardless of ideals. Your loss is my small treasure, I would say “enjoy” too bad I can’t. It’s good for multiple listenings. Dream on with your notions.lol!

Many tribute bands have cohesion, and chemistry, and bearing in mind the personel involved in this ‘act’, the result is disapointing.

The nostalgia tour will end, and we can waited with baited breath for the ‘creativity’ to begin.

I seriously thought I had too, and seen ehough for that matter… then I played an entire show from beginning to end, and was very impressed. So I won’t be taking any non pre-listeners opining as anything but speculation. The proof lies in the recording’s evidence, they rock like a well oiled band, so don’t let your pre-conceived notion keep you from indulging in some reality. I’ll believe you when I hear a crap show, Moscow is an average recording and it still shows a band that has more energy than I could have imagined. You don’t find energy and power like that very easily these days, especially with JLT on board.

As I said, I’m actually quite surprised, so I’ll sod any disagreement from those who have yet to hear it… but if you haven’t and you opine that it’s very good, I will have to agree your prediction is right on.

Doesn’t mean they can wrtie a great song together though, which is another story, but they’re massively cohesive and display plenty of potential band chemistry.

venue capacity is 3,000 (2,800 general admission and 200 VIP seats), there is a link to venue’s website. they sold 4,000 tickets. these numbers are correct, we verified it with the promoter.

NO! TC said that moscow show was SOLD OUT! As we all know, we call a show SOLD OUT when EVERY ticket is sold. But in Moscow B1 Maximum club, which holds 4500 people, OTR sold only 4000 tickets. selling 4000 tickets out of 4500, DOESN’T MEAN THAT IT’S SOLD OUT!!!

one of my friend in Moscow works in B1, he said: OTR sold 50% of tickets BEFORE the concert day. they had sold over 2500 tickets BEFORE the concert, and another 1500 sold in the concert day.

So, Nick, it was TC who lied as if Moscow show was sold out…
I was quite right while talking about their ticket sales, as you see it

#12 Does this mean that the Who, Zep, Van Halen and any other band that does not have all “original” members are cover bands?? That would mean that MKII was a cover band because of the firing of Evans and Simper while the band continued to play some MKI material. I’m confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A cover band is not a band that consists of any original members and they don’t make records, and they are not top quality professionals.
Deep Purple simply evolved just as they always did, into what they are today.
You act like they split up when Ritchie left and got back together a few years later with a different guitar player and call it Deep Purple.
That “might” constitute them definable as a tribute band, but it’s not the case… and continuing to play the songs they are best known for, love playing the most, and had just as much writing input concerning their “parts” does not define “tribute band.” And about Ritchie, sparking an idea, then others contributing to it, does not make you the primary writer, it just makes you the primary motivator and idea maker… there is a difference, you know.

About OTR I agree, and if they do an album, it will sound less like a tribute band, I’m sure they will show an original side.

I still love to see OTR - the greatest Rainbow coverband ever. Just Like DP Mrk 8 is a great coverband to the real DP and Whitesnake is a OK coverband (but only a 50% ok) of the REAL Whitesnake. For csure DP are a better selling band - the are GREAT, but give OTR a chance. I’m sure they will play a hell of a great show and playing huge numbers og great songs you dont hear these days. So George - please find a life on the moon for a few years. We are a lot who will pay for you one-way ticket.

@1 T-C was right–add all 3 up and you have all seats filled.@4 If rich NYC Mahatten residents for-go their beloved musicals because of the economy–regular joe’s will pass up good concerts. i saw them play to 36000 in sao paulo brazil in 2003. Now they will play to 16000 in 2 shows..

I do not know much about Eastern Europe people too much. But many times I caught an eye that people there very concern about rock music. So, maybe 3000-4000 attendants in a rock concert looks relatively small or medium with me regardless of the fact that OTW is another tribute band (I mean right now, coz’ they don’t produce original music yet).

That’s why the story 15000 people came to Deep Purple concert at the end of 2008 as George said make sense with me, and wow…Deep Purple can still rockin’ thousands of people in a concert!

Like it or not the ticket sales seem quite impressive……..

But, maybe thats down to how the promoters, and the slightly mis-leading advertising campaign has worked……RAINBOW (Over The)

Anyway……im off to see the ‘BEATLES’(the bootleg), they are playing at the ‘village hall’….
