Paicey in Moscow

Here is a video from the recent Paicey’s visit to Moscow, where he held a drum clinic on Ferbuary 8. Sadly, the interview bits are overdubbed in Russian:

Thanks to Andrey Gusenkov for the info.

Nice drumming Ian, I have a bunch of DVD’s of these clinics and I love them because he plays with a ferocity not found at the Purple shows these days, probably due to rest between shows and not having to play for two hours steady.

I agree except for the ‘double bass’ thing…

  9. 9
    Crimson Ghost says:

Lol, of course that was only done for one song on one tour that we know of.

  10. 10
    Roberto says:

I never understood if the double bass has been played by Paice on the entire song or only during some parts of it…
double bass isn’t used even on hey cisco?

    Crimson Ghost says:

    Give the man a prize!

Yes I believe it was, but in concert he used a dbl pedal, possibly, so it doesn’t count as much as with Fireball because they didn’t bring out the other bass drum.

If only I could even meet the man face to face one day.

Come on down under agaain, even if for a holiday. Let me know.

Not bad for an old man!!!!! As an old man myself fortunate enough to have seen him loads since 1970. The roadies used to bring out another B drum for fireball during the 71 tour. Long before double bass drum peddles!!!
