Hi,

as far as I know, one of the best songs of JonLord was to hear every monday (in the 80s) on BFBS “Monday Rock Show”. This song was always the theme song.
But unfortunately I can remember the name.

Can anyone help ?

Me too,I love hammond!
but pictured is more inventive,particular,original,personal,refined and there is more art in it while in hoocie. there’s standard music that I have listened in many of the 60 and 70 english american blues rock outfit.the opposite for picture which I think it’s an underrated masterpiece

Purchased ‘Danger, white men dancing cd + dvd’ just recently,and have been enjoying it immensely…
a great blues-based outfit & quite diverse songs,
as you pointed out.

Must refresh my memory, though, and dive deep into
‘Pictured Within’ & ‘Gemini Suite’ again.

Hmmm, so it depends…

I love the “Hoochie Coochie” Most - because I love the Hammond instead of piano. And it’s great Blues-Rock. And the Songs are VERY diverse. Far from boring.
Surely the piano works are more art. Classical art. But I love more the Rock Music. So his classical works are also fantastic. I would love if he would do something with band and Orchestra again, like “the Concerto”, “Gemini Suite” or the very underrated “Before I Forget”…

Jon is a multistyle musician. That what makes him a maestro!

But the “Hoochie Coochie” is fantstic! One of Jon’s best Hammond works.

I have beyond the notes and I like it but my favourite is pictured within.I don’t like so much hoochie coochie men because is always the same old blues(there’s a track with gillan singing?).
Now I’m interested with the two last releases(I hope they will not be boring)

Rasmus, I think you’re wrong about Disguises. It’s scored for string orchestra and I don’t hear any piano or organ on it at all (I saw the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra play the first movement of it last year and there was definitely no piano or organ).

So unless Jon has taken up the violin lately…

The only piece he doesn’t perform on is Boom of the Tingling Strings, but on the same album you find Disguises, which he performs on.
