Steve came when they needed him the best and stayed and did the best and he´s still doing, and DP wouldn´t be there since a long time now had he not joined the band when he did. He renewed the Purple sound in 95 and has become, without a doubt, the PERFECT replacement, refrehing their sound, never steping into Ritchie´s shadow, always the perfect gentelman, always talking nicieties bout the rest of the band. With him they´ve recorded the Rapture of the Deep, for me the best album since the Perfect Strangers. DP´s still the greatest band in the world because ALL their current members are not only great musicians but warm, soulful people too, kind of soulkinders, which they never got in any of their previous line-ups. The perfect Ka-Tet. Of course, Long long Live!! I love all Purple faces, no exception.
