Albert Hall

Just thought I'd pass on my experience of the concerto at the Albert Hall 26th September 1999.
Firstly I never got to go to the original as I was born 11 months later. I kind of grew up listening and tasting the music of Deep Purple and bands alike. As they grew I grew with them. I use "alike" loosely though since I've come to appreciate that no other band is like DP. Before Sundays performance I listened to DP Concerto for group and Orchestra many times, enough times that when the interval was over I sat in awe as the Orchestra and Band struck up the same notes. To think that the original score was lost! Yes, I did notice some differences from the original but I do believe for the better. This time round keep the score safe, preferably in Fort Knox.

The atmosphere the whole evening was outstanding. People couldn't stop giving the guests the band and Orchestra a standing ovation after each piece. The comments I got to listen to afterwards was pure elation. I still have a buzz 3 days later.

I'd never seen Steve Morse play live. I'd describe his performance with the band as pure wizardry. Now I know why DP love the guy so much.

Thanks for an awesome evening guys. In my mind you are the best, no doubt about it.
